Most Helpful Positive Review Incredible boots
Look, there's no way around this fact: they are expensive. But they are probably the finest-made footwear I own. Maybe the finest-made thing I own. I guess this remains to be seen, but I expect them to last years. And for that, I'm willing to spend a little extra (it also doesn't hurt that the look great, too). They keep my feat perfectly dry, and the "Hydrobloc" (as Zamberlan calls the leather treatment) causes thick mud to just slide off the boot without sticking to it at all. Without tons of stitching and various bits and seams, as with synthetic materials, there isn't much for anything ...

Great Boots

by JR, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on October 18, 2023
I've been wearing my Zamberlan 996 Vioz for 7 years now every day on construction sites and out in the woods hunting, hiking, etc and there still going. The Zamberlan Tofane having a Norwegian welt can be resoled when the time comes and I felt it was worth the extra expense. These boots are Extremely comfortable out of the box and will only get more comfortable with time and miles put on them. To me, they are worth the expense and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a very well-made comfortable boot. Campsaver was the best price I found they were 100 dollars more elsewhere (Amazon) I received them in a reasonable timeframe and will be a returning customer.
Pros:
  • COMFORT
  • Build quality
  • Material quality
Cons:
  • Price
Best Used for:
  • Outdoor activities

Workhorse of a shoe

by Jonathon, from IL, United States Written on October 11, 2023
Very sturdy and comfortable although a bit heavier but nonetheless extremely well built shoes. My feet feel very well taking care of while I wear these shoes either for work, hiking, or just for the fun of wearing these casually. The quality of workmanship is at the highest as well as materials used to build this shoe. I like the idea of the toe rubber for protecting the shoe from scratches and cuts. I use these shoes for every day work and my feet feel very comfortable and never tired throughout the day.
Pros:
  • very comfortable
  • High-quality construction
  • High-quality materials
  • Very supportive
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • I mostly use for work, but I can feel the shoe can perform excellent for an job you at them

Zamberlan tofane

by Chris B., from PA, United States Written on June 9, 2023
These are the best hiking boots I have ever had on my feet period! The quality is outstanding. They are not cheap, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I read a lot of reviews on these boots and they were excellent. I also have a pair of zamberlan hunting boots that feel like a glove for your feet. From now on i will only buy zamberlan boots.

Dream boots

by Michael O, from WI, United States Written on April 27, 2023
Asolo has been my go to for 35 yrs but I decided to change it up to see if I have been missing something. My Tofane’s arrived today and I seriously have to say this boot is the best quality I have ever seen. The leather is like a Ferrari finish with a toughness to match. The fit is indescribable and designed to mold to your foot. Like any leather boot, it takes time to break in but they are comfortable out of the box. I can already tell 10-20 miles on these babies and I will never want to take them off. The fact that I can resole these makes them even better. I’m a 10 US which is a 44.5 Euro. I naturally have a narrow heel so I put my own insert in. The toe box is perfect sized to allow a slight compression to the tongue. Someone spent some serious time designing these boots and they are worth every penny! Also, I had a problem with the coupon. The customer service from Campsaver is first class. They literally called me after an email I sent the next day. They were worth the wait!!
Pros:
  • everything
Cons:
  • I wish I could afford 3 pairs of these!
Best Used for:
  • hiking and backpacking

Loyal fan Zamberlan

by alongalei, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on November 29, 2021
I own many pairs of shoes, but I was deeply attracted when I owned the first pair of Zamberlan. Norwegian sewing, sole and full hosiery, each of which is the top standard. I think Zamberlan is much better than Scarpa, crispi and so on.So far, I have five pairs of Zamberlan's shoes. I love him so much.

Zamberlan 1025 Tofane NW GTX Hiking Boot - Mens

by activen, from IN, United States Written on December 22, 2018
These boots are wonderful. The Zamberlan difference is amazing. I climbed Mera a couple of years ago with a pair of Z mountain boots and after I wore them I found my trusty Asolo to be just a little lacking. These Tofane are what was missing. The comfort out of the box is amazing and you can see the quality in every facet. In your hands they feel heavy and solid but on your feet they are light and reassuring.

I have waited a while to buy them as they are expensive but the deal on CampSaver was just too good to pass up. You have to wait for the delivery but its completely worth it.
Pros:
  • COMFORT
  • QUALITY
  • work well
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • Trekking
  • Climbing and hiking

MOST COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR I OWN!

by Matt Miller, from FL, United States Written on August 29, 2017
These boots are AMAZING! I couldn't believe when I first slipped them on...they felt like plush slippers! I am not exaggerating. I had originally purchased a pair of Zamberlan 1000 Baltoro boots, which are great looking and very well built. Unfortunately, they were too narrow in the toe and very rigid. I exchanged them for these Tofanes, and what a difference! I have literally been wearing these around my house...my feet feel better with them on! They are also of a beautiful build, with luxurious materials, perfect craftsmanship, and look like they will last forever. More than anything, I can't believe how good they feel on. I recommend this boot over ANY other boots I have ever worn, by far!
Pros:
  • COMFORT
  • QUALITY
  • CRAFTSMANSHIP
  • DURABILITY
  • STYLE
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
  • HIKING
  • MOUNTAINEERING
  • WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE

The Rolls Royce of hiking boots..

by Robert Allen, Written on February 16, 2017
..these boots, like others have said require no breaking in. For a relatively heavy boot (2+ lbs./boot) they are a dream to walk on, and almost seem to propel themselves from heel plant to toe lift. I am not really in the class of buyer for these boots, but when it comes to what I put on my feet I never compromise because of price. I have never regretted getting these, just the opposite, they make me happier and happier each time I put them on.

The cat's meow of boots!!

by mcdough, from PA, United States Written on December 21, 2016
OMG, I just received these boots so no feedback, yet, on performance. However, my initial response to these boots is what most people have previously confirmed, that these are awesome boots, all the way around: craftsmanship and quality of materials can NOT be beat!!!! True Italian artistry! I don't even want to think about getting them all beat up, but it will happen, sadly!

I walked in the house with them on for about an hour, before going around the neighborhood for an hour. Obviously not trail conditions, but my initial feel was amazing...so comfortable. I fit into these like a glove. Time will tell once I'm in the backcountry.

My biggest fear was sizing and ordering through the mail. It was a chance I took, and it worked out for me. Some reviewers stated that it was TTS, some said it was big, and some said too small/tight (I looked at a ton of online reviews). Sizing is soooo subjective, as no two feet are identical, so one has to have the best compromise. Normally, I take a size 12 US, or 46 in EU. I decided to NOT go with the 12 but, instead, went with the 46, which is what I normally wear in EU. Zamberlan states that the 46 equates to a 11.5. Is that a US size or UK??? I honestly think that their sizing is UK, which makes sense, as my US 12 equals a 11.5 in UK. Anyway, my foot is cradled in these boot just perfectly with a medium Smartwool hiking sock. I never go thin but, on occasion, go thick, and never a liner. These boots are not too small in the toe area (and I...
