Fit perfectly from the first wearing. Break in period was a series of 5 mile hikes. No hot spots or problems. The toe box is large and my heel is held well. I have a normal arch and it is well supported. I usually hike 5-8 miles 4-5 times each week on a steep trail with some loose gravel. Boots give me a very secure feeling. I don't have to deal with water so I can't evaluate them for that.
