This boot is a beauty that I wanted to love. I tried it on at home and it felt fine. When I broke them in on a 14 mile trail I was hurting and bruised for days after. Specifically, the top part of the boot that wraps around my ankles felt like a tight rope cutting into me. I have regular/ thin ankles, not cankles, not even close to that. I couldn't understand why I was in so much pain and tried adjusting the laces multiple times. I tried changing the position of my socks. Nothing worked. The rest of the boot felt very comfortable, like the toe area and toe space etc, but the longer I walked the more pain I was being put through around the ankle area. I would not recommend if you have ankles.
Pros:
Comfortable foot bed and toe space
Cons:
Bruised Ankle
Would recommend: No
