The new Maestrale RS is the perfect blend of performance and backcountry functionality. Make a planet friendly choice by choosing boots that are made from sustainable plant-based plastic.The RS utilizes a bi-injection carbon-infused Grilamid Lambda Frame shell to add power and rigidity without adding weight. The Thor cuff, which now utilizes Grilamid Bio - a planet friendly, renewable resource - also increases torsional rigidity while also providing a 60-degree range of motion for long efficient strides. The HRS strap keeps your heel planted where it should be to increase performance and comfort on the way up and down while the lower Wave Closure system provides the same security as a 2-buckle system at a fraction of the weight. The glove-friendly Finger Strap features RECCO Technology for increased avalanche searchability. The Maestrale RS is for experienced backcountry skiers looking for uncompromising performance.

Comfy right out of the box and I love the ankle strap. Keeps my heel tight in the pocket. I could keep walking for days if work didn't get in the way.

Love this boot, but I found that it put too much pressure on my foot arch (even after thermoforming the intuition liner). Ended up fixing the problem by cutting out the arch in the extra insole and now the boots are set for all-day comfort (literally wore them all day, every day for a 4 day ski tour). Amazing boot for skiing. Provides great control.

Overall a really great boot and were even better than expected after much debate on spending $. I didn't get them heat molded since they fit so well out of the box - impressive. I've previously used the orange Scarpa Mastrales and found that these are a huge upgrade on the way down. These feel much stiffer and definitely capable of handling my (too) heavy S7s.
