The Stratus Trailstove is a backpacking that runs on wood, not liquid fuel or gas. You'll never run out of gas with wood readily available all around you. You can also use a Trangia alcohol burner and the TrailStove then coverts to a windscreen and pot holder.image

These stoves went off the market for awhile, so I was really excited to see them back at Campsaver! It boiled my water quickly, and was nice to not have to carry around fuel. It works well at a great price point. I would recommend it to everyone!

I just received my Stratus stove a couple days ago. Tried it out today, nothing fancy- tried to boil water for a Dehydrated lunch entree. It got going pretty quick, I added more sticks (up to the size of my little finger),got the chamber about 2/3 full and put 16 oz. of water on. The stove immediately began smoking heavily. fire started going out. Took pan off, fire came back. ...

Basic "hobo" style wood stove. Works ok if there is plenty of dry wood around. This stove takes bout 10 minutes to boil water + the time it takes to get the fire started. This time varies with conditions. Alternately you can use an alcohol burner to start the wood.
