The Thule Sidearm is an upright roof-mounted bike carrier and it will give you maximum frame protection as it makes contact with wheel only.image

Features of Thule Side Arm:

Solid bike rack from Thule. One thing to point out is the arm does not sit flush when you mount the rack on the drivers side of the vehicle.

solid product with vague installation instructions

I purchased 2 of these bike carriers and am pleased with them now that I have them installed. I did find the installation to be a bit tedious the first time around because the instructions provided aren't as clear and detailed as they could be. Got the roof-mounted 'sidearm'. Nice rack. Easy to get the bike in and secured. Biggest prob is getting the bike onto the roof/rack, but once in place it is very quick to lock in. If you have a high roof or very heavy bike, it could get cumbersome.
