Got the roof-mounted 'sidearm'. Nice rack. Easy to get the bike in and secured. Biggest prob is getting the bike onto the roof/rack, but once in place it is very quick to lock in. If you have a high roof or very heavy bike, it could get cumbersome. For this, contemplated a hitch rack, but went with the roof version primarily for two reasons: 1) the car didnt come with an OEM hitch, so it would have been an added expense and, 2) with the roof rack, everything is out of hte way and doesnt occlude rear hatches or trunk lids.
Overall, as expected, the quality of the rack is very good. Assembly was pretty simple and straightforward, took about 45m total to get it in place.
After several initial uses, no complaints. One bit is to absolutely make sure to lock the arm very tightly, but this is enumerated in the instrux. Still, takes some ooomph to really get it locked in so nothing moves during transport.
