Used this boot for a 33-mile hike on the Sheltowee Trace in KY. It had just rained literally the entire week before, there was water all over the trail. This is my first pair of GTX boots and I must say, they did a fantastic job of keeping my feet dry. They're so light compared to many other boots out there. Worst boots I've ever bought; worst company I have ever tried to deal with!
I’ve just finished my 10th camino and for the past 8 I've worn Keen Thargee and had no problems at all. That's more than 8000km with not a single blister so I know a thing or two about comfortable boots. I had trouble finding lightweight mid boot that fit my feet ... wide midfoot, wide toe box, narrow heel, and medium high arch. These boots fit better than others I worn over the last decade.
These work well for hiking.

This is my second pair of evolution Mid GTX boots. They are the most comfortable mid boot I've used, and I would recommend them to anyone wanting a light weight, agile all-purpose boot. I primarily use them for day/weekend hiking.

Treksta doesn't claim to be a Vegan company. While I'm sure they may use some Vegan materials, I doubt very mush that they are, because this is a great claim to have on a shoe. Patagonia carries some Vegan footwear products, unfortunately Vegan boots are difficult to come by, and I am unaware of any on our site.
