Backpacker magazine did a review of these boots in 2011 and I held off buying them then. I don't know what I was thinking. After a recent trip to the mountains these are absolutely the best hiking boots I have ever bought. I am very picky about my boots and do not like purchasing them online. I have even thought about purchasing another pair for fear that I may not be able to get another pair as good in the future.

I had trouble finding lightweight mid boot that fit my feet ... wide midfoot, wide toe box, narrow heel, and medium high arch. These boots fit better than others I worn over the last decade.
These work well for hiking.

Worst boots I've ever bought; worst company I have ever tried to deal with!
I’ve just finished my 10th camino and for the past 8 I've worn Keen Thargee and had no problems at all. That's more than 8000km with not a single blister so I know a thing or two about comfortable boots. This time I was walking from Rome to Lisbon, 3000km so this is a fair review from a real hiker carrying a 20kg backpack, walking 20-30km a day.
Two thirds along the way I had to buy a new pair of boots in Santiago and I was excited to find a pair of boots with so many rave reviews all over the internet. What a mistake!
This company claimed to have scanned 20000 feet to make this Nestfit technology but after just 3 hours I was having my feet literally ripped apart by the rough stitching that goes straight up the heel. The design is appalling, it's like a rasp on the skin. Within 4 hours the specially designed insole was covered in blood and I had to add extra padding to the rear section to turn these 140

This is the third pair of the Trekstas that I have owned, and doubt I will change brands. The "nest fit" really works for me. Very comfortable but tough enough for long hikes. I have worn these twice to the top of Mt. Whitney. Once via the main trail (22 miles round trip), and once via the Mountaineer's route (17 miles round trip via main trail for return). Traction was great going up the final 400' of the Mountaineer's route. No slipping or concerns. Highly recommended.

This is my second pair of evolution Mid GTX boots. They are the most comfortable mid boot I've used, and I would recommend them to anyone wanting a light weight, agile all-purpose boot. I primarily use them for day/weekend hiking.

I am just beginning to use my Treksta Evolution Mid GTX hiking boots, after giving up on my ancient, beloved (and no longer made) Garmont Vegans. The Trekstas have an amazing fit, and are very comfortable. Traction on wet rock is the best I've ever experienced. These are a light and agile boot. They perform very well on day hikes on difficult terrain. When backpacking, or on multiple-day adventures

At first, I really liked these.
I have had the low cut version for 1 1/2 years and love them.I also have the Assault and love those. The nestfit is great. However; these mids just did not hold up ,plus I had blister issues in the heel and toes. The sole at the heel has opened up after only about 50 miles.
