I wear these with socks around the house in warm weather because I don't like flip-flops or being barefoot. Getting into the water at the shore can be a bit tough sometimes due to all the shell chips and pebbles and these help with that a bit. Not a perfect fix and not good on rocks but definitely helpful to prevent cuts from stepping on sharp shell fragments. Generally good for wearing out of the water as well but they are minimalist.
