Yakima Fatcat has been discontinued by Yakima and is no longer available. Our product experts have helped us select these available replacements below. You can also explore other items in the Paddlesports, Travel, Truck & Auto Gear, Car Racks, Ski, Bike & Paddle Racks yourself to try and find the perfect replacement for you!
The trend in skis these days is like the trend in neckties during the 70's. They just keep getting fatter. So Yakima has invented the FatCat series. No other family of racks can handle wider skis and boards quite like this. FatCat 4 handles 4 pairs of fat skis or 2 snowboards. FatCat 6 handles 6 pairs of fat skis or 4 snowboards. The hinges are double-jointed to keep your gear looking new, and the new SnapLock mounting hardware is a cinch to install.
Features of Yakima Fatcat:
Sleek low profile aerodynamic design with new mirror black finish
NEW and improved SnapLock mounting hardware with over-molded stainless steel strap fits securely onto most factory and aerodynamic crossbars
DoubleJoint hinge system accommodates modern fat skis and boards
Snap-around hardware for a sleek profile on Yakima round or square aftermarket crossbars
Simple, super fast tool-free installation
Integrated ski lift allows for rooftop clearance for snowboards or tall bindings
Holds up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards. (larger FatCat 6 holds up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards)

Living in Colorado you make sure that you have room for as many sets of skis or snowboards on your roof as you have room for humans gear.
Sometimes you make somebodies day when you give a ride to the random backcountry rider at the bottom of the pass on your way up.
Ordered the Yakima Fatcat 4 from Campsaver after chatting online with one of the Reps. They had it on sale much lower than everyone else with free shipping as well. I only gave four stars because the order took a few days to process before it shipped. Highly recommend using them.
