Soto Compact Refillable Lantern has been discontinued by Soto and is no longer available. Our product experts have helped us select these available replacements below. You can also explore other items in the Camp & Hike, Lighting, Lanterns, Gas Powered Lanterns yourself to try and find the perfect replacement for you!
FYI to everyone who loves this great little lantern - it is and exact reproduction of the Brunton Glorb lantern that was discontinued a few years ago. I have TWO Glorb lanterns & value them immensely over the past decade, especially on winter camping trips when the extra heat a mantle light throws is much appreciated inside a tent or tipi. The light from the mantle is more than... Read more
The Lantern is easy to use and the versitile. The ability to use it with or with out a mantel is essential in a emergency situation such as getting stuck in your car during a snow storm. I was able to save my fuel and keep the inside of my car heated. Thank you I would recomend this product to anyone.
The Soto gas light provides abundant light. Using the optional adapter to fill it means you can use just one cylinder for cooking and lighting. The only downside to the product is that it contains a gas cylinder albeit small, and is classed as dangerous goods by our airlines.

Use for camp setup. Easy operation every time. Only thing I can knock is the fact that when you switch from lantern to candle obviously you will have to have a ready-available mantle when you do. Because it is a one time decision to switch out. But really not a bother when you know what you need.
I love this little lantern. I love mantle lanterns but i do not like the bulk of them. This lantern is very compact and is perfect for my needs. The only con is that if the lantern bounces around too much on a hike you might ruin the mantle. I would recommend always have a spare. And even if you don't have a spare you can still run the lantern in "candle mode".
The Compact Refillable Lantern has a valve system that will prevent over-filling. When the fill level reaches the "MAX" level, it automatically dispose of excess.
