Taking a chair kit on your backpacking trip sounds like a dream for an aching back and tired feet but the weight and size of most chairs quickly ruins the fantasy. Not any more. The "SL" in Big Agnes Cyclone SL Chair Kit stands for 'super light' and it truly is. I never take a chair kit if I have to hike more than a mile, but now I won't be leaving home without this 6 oz wonder, regardless of distance. The Cyclone works with 20 in. pads from 66 to 78 inches. Lightweight but dont combine with Q-Core

My guess is that it works better with other pads but it does not work well with the Big Agnes Q-Core.

light weight camp seating--Big Agnes Cyclone chair

I ordered a factory demo. It looked new. weighs 7.5 oz, (9 oz in it's carry sack which does not have to be used) holds my 3/4 thermorest self inflatable pad and provides the needed back support. Is comfortable perched atop my bear can, a log or a rock, or seated on the ground. can rock in it. Easy to insert the pad. To protect the fabric from abrasion I put my thermorest z sit ...

light & comfy!

I like to backpack, but really need a comfy seat in camp! I'm trying to go lightweight, so got this addition to my gear. It works greta, but is a bit fussy...stuffing a NeoAir into it is tricky....have to deflate the pad, inseart and inflate just enough to work. But, it's still the best alternative I know.

With a mummy pad (Clearview Air Pad - 20x72), the rounded edges are still workable, but don't fold into the chair as securely.

Experiences from a hunting trip

This construction is very lightweigt, so it is easy to take on any trip where you would also take the inflatable sleeping mat. It was very easy to set up, and comfortable to sit in. The best of it all was however the envy it created from the hunting friends because it looks so very comfortable;-)

Yes. It will work with the Q-core pad. The Cyclone chair kit works with 60", 66", 72" or 78" length pads in mummy or rectangular shapes.

Q Could I use a 72 inch therma rest sol lite or any folding type of pad with this? What is the minimum length of a Sol lite that I can use (I can cut mine down)? How about using a Klymit Stat 5?

The Z-lite should work just fine with this chair kit, although you'll want to be aware that the folds of this pad may need to be doubled over in order to fit. The Static V would work just fine.
