Kestrel 58....not bad

Good for backpacking, but be weary of too much weight. At 25 lbs it felt fine, but at 40 lbs it bruised my shoulders and hips.

Can't say enough good things

I had a Stratos 40 ventilated pack which I sold and bought this Kestrel 58. Not that there was anything "wrong" with the Stratos, but holy cow is this Kestrel awesome! I'm at the end of recovery of a back injury and was worried about comfort but no need, this thing is perfectly balanced and comfortable. Lately I do more airport "hiking" then wilderness so I was also looking for something that was travel friendly and not too loud looking. Originally ordered the green but it blended with the grey too much and looked a little too hardcore so I returned it and got the blue instead. Much better for me. The multiple pockets on top and extra room make this thing the best pack I've ever had for travel or outdoors. And the rainfly is a really nice touch. I'll keep this pack forever.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I got this pack for my wife (and for me when she's not using it) and I loved it so much I bought one in the next size up for me. Awesome product, and well thought out. I especially like the hip pockets and the external water bladder pocket. Very comfortable when loaded.
