Most shade structures are much heavier. This is light enough that you can strap it onto your backpack and go a ways. It's not as tall as many but it can provide much needed relief in hot desert heat. I love this tent! It is light, easy to setup and take down. Very well designed. I also bought the compatible footprint for it.
