With a dry treated core and sheath that repels moisture from the inside out, the 30-meter Black Diamond 7.8 Glacier Rope is a half rope designed specifically to be used for glacier travel through crevassed terrain, mountain walking and emergency rappels. Featuring their durable Endurance sheath, which uses a unique 1X1 weave construction to lengthen the ropes' lifespan and make it more abrasion-resistant, the BD 7.8 is built for lightweight mountain travel.
