The Black Diamond Super Tour Probe is a versatile probe that blends lightweight yet strong construction with a long length and maximum compactability. Seven oversized aluminum tubes mesh together instantly with our speed cone ferrules to create a tough, smooth outer surface. Our QuickDraw system allows the probe to be completely assembled in the time it takes to toss it from its bag into the air. Other features include markings in five-centimeter increments for depth readings and a non-slip grip.

Satisfactory Probe

Very sturdy probe, though untested in hard-packed avalanche snow. As with most gear, it was very important to do a couple trial runs with tools nearby before running into the mountains. I ordered two. One came out of the bag with the locking mechanism working perfectly. The other needed a slight adjustment before it would lock into place.
