Strong and easy to use
It _could_ be lighter, but it looks very strong and it is easy to use -- you can hardly ask for more.

Satisfactory Probe
Very sturdy probe, though untested in hard-packed avalanche snow. As with most gear, it was very important to do a couple trial runs with tools nearby before running into the mountains. I ordered two. One came out of the bag with the locking mechanism working perfectly. The other needed a slight adjustment before it would lock into place.
