I love me some MulitMat! When I go backpacking, I carry almost fifteen pounds of camera equipment so everything else that goes in my pack has to be very light, or it has to serve multiple purposes. The MM excels at both. In camp, the MM insulates my Exped hammock when nights are colder. If it isn't cold, the MM covers the ground under my hammock so I can enter and exit the hamm...

These mats are extremely versatile. I originally purchased one to use inside a tent for the floor for which it excelled. The only drawback is the neoprene backing is somewhat fragile...I used it under a cot (to protect the tent) and it got chewed up...but then I knew I was taking a chance with that application. I use this MultiMat for cycle touring and summer camping. Insulates from cold ground and doesn't slip. Also a great ground barrier when using a Bivy sack. Buy this item.

In a hammock, it can be used w/ an SPE to keep your backside warm down into the mid 30's. Beyond that, you'll need to get creative. Bottom line, excellent water/cold barrier for any activity and very comfort...
