Product Info for Exped Polaris 2 Tent - 2 Person, 4 Season
Exped's Polaris Tent features: adjustable guylines, covered vestibule for gear and cooking. Also, ventilation and views on all four sides through door, rear window, and two offset tunnel vents.
Features of Exped Polaris 2 Tent - 2 Person, 4 Season:
Fully freestanding: Full length ridge pole supports the structure and forms the vestibule. Of course, such easy setup also means simple teardown! And, for situations in which it is hard to stake out guylines, the poles can be braced together from the inside using the guylines.
New for 2011: Center pole now runs outside in a sleeve. Previous models placed the center pole inside the tent and secured it with velcro straps.
Fast setup: just slide 4 color-coded poles into their sleeves and tension the pockets; secure and plant 2-4 stakes. That's it!
Covered vestibule for gear and cooking.
Easy handling, day or night: zippers have color coded, reflective, and glow-in-the-dark pulls that operate easily with just one hand.
Reinforced guyline loops attach directly to the pole sleeves. Triple guyline flaps on the sides connect to the floor loop.
Guylines of ultralight and static Dyneema with a tear force of 300lbs/ 140kg
Adjustable guylines made of super strong, lightweight and reflective Dyneema cord are premounted in a stormproof V-configuration.
Designed by experience: World class expeditionists like Erhard Lortan, Jean Troillet, Stephan Siegrist, Sebastien Gay, plus numerous regular adventurers are godfathers to the Polaris

This tent is really awesome. It surprisingly has a high internal height, and because its only a single skin, the specs are actually correct. Super easy to set-up, as all exped tents are. You can set up the baby without getting the inner wet, which is a downside to many other tents on the market.Have used it on snow and this tent breezes through it. If the vents are used wisely ... I've owned and used many tents over 20 plus years of guiding. This tent stands out as my favorite for the following reasons:
1. Relatively light
2. Excellent construction standards
3. Roomy given size and weight
4. Strong enough for full-on winter conditions
5. Intelligent design in terms of practical features
I have found little no condensation when used in Alpine environment... Read more

This tent is outstanding. It takes a few practice set-ups in good weather to be proficient with the poles, but that is the case with any tent. Once you do it a few times it is a piece of cake. Since there is no fly, the tent doesn't get wet or dirty during setup. Once inside it has an amazing amount of head room and ventilation options. Stash pockets on the interior walls are g... This tent was built for conditions far more extreme than I will probably ever encounter. Why would I purchase one you might ask.I guess I like the idea of having a spacious fortress of a tent that can handle harsh conditions in comfort without a huge weight penalty. All the floor space is useable. It feels like a "room" more than a tent.
In cold wet conditions you will have more c... Read more
I love this tent for winter backpacking, high wind areas, only time I have had trouble with this tent was in Kodiak Alaska when the humidity was really high and I was stuck in the tent for two days. Had some condenstation problems, however for a late season. Has done great in really heavy wind conditions!
