Definitely required

BA pads tend to take quite a few breaths to fill, so this pump bag is essential. Works very easily and quickly, but also doubles as a dry sack as long as the cap stays closed. I wish it had adapters or something so I could use it in all of my pads. Definitely a good buy.

Multi-use and takes up no space in my pack

Really looking forward to hitting the trail in a few weeks. Many times, at the end of the day, I am gassed from a day of hiking. And having to inflate my pad is a pain. With this bag, my job will be easier and the fact it has multiple uses makes it an even better deal.

This works great. you can inflate your mat very quickly, and you get the benefit of filling your mat with dry air. This will help preserve your mat's life. BA Dry Sack and Pad Pump

This is just what I was looking for. I'm working through my gear list and shaving off weight everywhere that I can. I was considering purchasing a cuben fiber dry sack for my sleeping quilt but this is a perfect light weight dual purpose bag. A dry sack and a pad pump. The pump is so easy to use and the bag is lightweight and big enough for my quilt. Nice.

Q How does this work on the older type BA Air Core nozzles and other brand mattresses. It implies that it works on others but gives no information.

This will work on any Big Agnes pad with the new valve (within the last two years). It may work with other brands, but it was made specifically for big Agnes pads.

Q Do I need to buy a separate nozzle to use as a shower? It seems to me that the 1" hole in the bottom would drain the water out in seconds.

There is not any shower nozzle. It would come out fast, it would be more of a douse yourself, turn it off. Soap, rinse. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
