Dedicated to the needs of belaying, the Clepsydra is one tough carabiner. The Grivel design twin gate system makes it incredibly secure while the lower wire gate keeps the carabiner oriented in the right direction at all times preventing cross loading.image

Check out the images on the Grivel website for what the Clepsydra S actually looks like. Mine is a wire gate on the outside, solid gate on the inside and a small hood for keeping belay devices oriented properly. A little heavy, but that's okay since we're looking for a winter and glove friendly "auto locker" for a mountaineering tie in.
