I have been using this coffee maker for years .I have tried press"s, smaller backpacking coffee pots ,boiled cowboy coffee and various instant brands .Hands down this produces great coffee without the bulk , weight or the mess. Love this thing. Quality better than expected. Can easily make 24 oz of strong (real) coffee. It replaced my msr coffee mesh whatever that thing is and I couldn't be happier. Now if I could only learn how to make those sassy creamer designs with my powdered creamer...

got tired of bad, overly acidic instant coffee (even the packaged stuff from the coffee company on every other corner was pretty terrible). this makes great coffee! as a bonus, it seems a LOT easier to clean up after than a french press, which is nice when you're camping in back or front country, and especially in bear country. I used The Java Drip on a recent 3 person camping trip to the Adirondack mountains of New York. It made a delicious full size pot of coffee each morning. It is light weight, and packs pretty small. Great item.
