I had been looking for some time to find crampons that would fit on my size 13 wide heeled 400 gram winter boots. For this boot size most crampons would not work since the boot would sit too far forward on the crampon heel and then would come off under certain conditions. I tried different brands, but when my friend loaned me her Hillsounds, I knew I found the perfect pair. These are easy to put on and take off, they feel secure on my boots, and best of all, they have excellent grip, even on sheer ice.

I'm excited to try these out! They seem very well made. I like the adjustability, and the way they are compact for taking up less room in your pack. I am looking forward to trying them out on a climb soon!

These crampons are the best bang for your buck. I day hiked up 5,000 ft. of elevation in pure snow with these and they worked great! The only thing is that if you're hiking up some steep icy slope you can't rely on the tow spikes to get you up it as much as heavier duty crampons will...but that's why they're called trail crampons.
