The Hults Bruk Bjork is a larger splitting axe intended for heavier duties such as splitting large logs as well as processing wood for use in a fireplace.
Features of Hults Bruk Bjork Splitting Axe:
This axe head is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel in a foundry that has been in operation since 1697.
As part of the production process, the steel is struck multiple times thereby increasing its density and resulting in more durability of the axe.
The head is constructed in such a way that there is a tempered zone designed to hold a very sharp edge even after many sharpenings.
Each axe comes with a traditional leather protective sheath that is embellished with some unique Swedish decorative elements.

I bought this as an alternative to using a splitting maul, and wedges, especially for smaller, straight grainy wood. It works perfectly. The light weight allows you to spend more time splitting while also helping to ensure precision strikes. It’s also much quieter that a sledge/wedge combo. I am new to chopping/splitting wood, so I will not speak over my head, but the quality of this axe is very nice! Especially for the price. Out of the box, it was razor sharp and has an all around great balance for my needs around the house. After a few swings to get used to a shorter splitting axe, this axe split without nearly as much effort as my old splitting maul. It was sharp right out of the box and I was impressed by how easily it went through the Maple I was splitting, especially because of it’s lightweight. I’d highly recommend this axe. An added bonus is how beauful this axe looks and is designed.
This is a great splitting axe! Love the quality and design of the head and handle. This is an excellent tool for splitting wood that you don't need a maul to split. My son loves to split wood with me, but a maul was too much for him to handle safely. This axe is his new favorite tool. If this axe fits your needs, buy it. You won't be sorry!
