Caring for Leather Lined Boots:
Leather linings should thoroughly dry out between wearings. Because leather linings absorb perspiration, just like our skin, they can become soft, if wet. Similar to wet skin that develops blisters, wet leather linings can tear. If you anticipate wearing your leather lined boots for many days consecutively, please lightly wipe the heel pocket with LOWA Waterstop (or similar product). This will slightly inhibit the absorption of moisture and help prevent possible leather tearing.

My wife got me these boots for Christmas...love always wanted a pair of Lowa.. wore many pair of timberland out and were great boots... I’ve wore many boots out in the hills of Kentucky and working on the Pine Mountain State Scenic Trail... I love the leather lining... wearing them every day to break them in... great so far..

I bought these renegades in August of 2016, its December 2016 as I write this review. The boots are not bad, they are not cheap. But my last two pair were Asolo Fugitives, which are the best boots ever in my opinion. These are not as rigid as the Asolos, and the stitching is starting to come undone in the tow box area. Bought these as a lower weight alternative to the Tibet . They have more flex and are the leather liner is very comfortable. However they fit wider than the Tibets and the lacing system is inferior also. It is difficult to lace in a way that achieves uniform tightness. Perhaps different laces would help. LL is the way to go

I prefer the Leather Lined (LL) Renegades to the GoreTex (GTX) by far. The GTX always makes my feet sweat no matter the temp. I find the leather much more comfortable and breathable. Just make sure you let them dry out well. I usually put mine by the air/heat register at the end of each day.
