I bought these renegades in August of 2016, its December 2016 as I write this review. The boots are not bad, they are not cheap. But my last two pair were Asolo Fugitives, which are the best boots ever in my opinion. These are not as rigid as the Asolos, and the stitching is starting to come undone ...

Lowa Renegade Ll Mid

Bought these as a lower weight alternative to the Tibet . They have more flex and are the leather liner is very comfortable. However they fit wider than the Tibets and the lacing system is inferior also. It is difficult to lace in a way that achieves uniform tightness. Perhaps different laces would help. The lower part of the laces are hard to keep tight as compared to the upper part. Overall a good boot for hiking but need to figure out how to lace better.

The heel is leather lined. Toe box is not.

LL is the way to go

I prefer the Leather Lined (LL) Renegades to the GoreTex (GTX) by far. The GTX always makes my feet sweat no matter the temp. I find the leather much more comfortable and breathable. Just make sure you let them dry out well. I usually put mine by the air/heat register at the end of each day.
