I've tried this only as a light midlayer (a little over 5 oz in M) over a t-shirt for hiking in cool conditions, but it has been perfect. On strenuous hikes in cool weather, it breathes well enough that I haven't wanted to take it off, but it still kept me warm enough during rest/snack breaks. Feels warm and soft against skin. Thin and breathable, but the loft effect should trap air when layering. Fit is typical of most tech clothing, tailored to thin to athletic builds. A good addition to my closet at a reasonable price.
