I just finished 5 days hiking in sunny, warm conditions wearing this shirt every day. With a baseball cap, it kept me fully protected from the sun, dried quickly when I got it wet (intentionally or unintentionally) and still smelled okay (relatively) by the end of the week. It's extremely comfortable and a perfect weight for warm conditions. The thumb loops made it easy to slide a midlayer over it when the weather cooled down. I can't think of anything I would change. I would consider sizing up, though. I usually wear a M and ordered a L in this and found it to be perfect.

I've tried this only as a light midlayer (a little over 5 oz in M) over a t-shirt for hiking in cool conditions, but it has been perfect. On strenuous hikes in cool weather, it breathes well enough that I haven't wanted to take it off, but it still kept me warm enough during rest/snack breaks. It doesn't block wind at all, but under a light wind shirt I stayed very comfortable on the breezy Oregon coast with temps in the 50's and no sun.I think this will be a great layer for hiking in the mountains and year round use in cool coastal conditions. Highly recommended.
