I have to admit that this is the first Montane Jacket I have ever tried. My general view is why have I missed this product line until now. Best Hood Ever! Wow do I love the hood on this jacket. The wire reinforced brim can be adjusted to my liking and the fit around my head (no helmet) is fantastic. Athletic fit is fantastic and fits my build perfectly (5'11, 190lbs). Zero wind pass-through and the hood is great with the added structure of the wire brim. When the hood folds into the collar it makes a snug fit around the neck to keep the warmth in. Tight weave of the exterior is very smooth and doesn't make much noise when moving. Great jacket.
