This stove performs as advertised. I didn't have to try it in wind (and didn't use the wind shield portion). Took it on an overnight backpacking trip with my son on the Appalachian Trail. I purchased this because last year I traveled to Alaska and was camping in Denali National Park. This stove is compact and easy to control, safe!!! I used for several meals, excellent experiences!!! highly recommended.
