This stove performs as advertised. I didn't have to try it in wind (and didn't use the wind shield portion). Took it on an overnight backpacking trip with my son on the Appalachian Trail. It is extremely compact. It boils a couple of cups of water fast. I started the stove, put on approximately the amount of water recommended on the food package.
