looking at the 45 L model for carry-on (airline) capability. can the hip belt and shoulder straps be removed allowing just the top handle for carrying. would the metal spine piece need to be removed as well to protect it from accidental damage?

Yes, you can completely remove the harness, hip belt, and metal rod if you would like.

Can either the 60l or 45l be expanded out to a higher liter amount like the 45l be extended to 55l I'm asking because I'm not sure would be best 4 me

Hello, According to the video this is manufactured in Men's and Women's to accommodate the difference in the hip structure. But the website is advertising as unisex, can you please confirm with vendor?

Is this the 2014 version where the compression straps go inside/under the two side pockets? From the photo it looks like the old version where the compression straps are on the outsides of the side pockets making them difficult to use...
