The Lightning 60 is a refined lightweight backpack for any long distance hike or multi-day trekking adventure where minimal weight, functionality and a little extra space are required.
The functional roll-top closure allows not only quick access, but also expansion of the main compartment. Side pockets made of elastic fabric can be used to store items such as water bottles as well as trekking poles or tent poles. Zippered pockets on the hip belt on top of the pack provide even more quick-access storage space. Side zig-zag compression straps and a webbing strap that runs across the backpack with quick-release buckles keep gear like mats or an flysheet securely in place. Those who use the Lightning for mountaineering attach ice tools to the designated loops and central daisy chain.
The fully adjustable suspension system with minimal contact points and aluminum stay is length-adjustable and can be easily configured to fit the length of your back. Further carrying comfort is provided by a padded hip belt. The extremely lightweight material is water-repellent and PFC-free.

I used this pack for an 4 days hike, loading around 35lbs. It still comfortable.
I like the thick hip belt, which is super comfortable, the aluminium stay is very stiff and can transfer the load to the hipbelt well.

just a comment - don't know if it's the resolution on my laptop but the straps on the black model appear to have a pinkish hue to them. This pack is light and easily adjustable. I have tried many packs before deciding on this one. The shoulder straps are narrow, but very comfortable. Many packs have shoulder straps that rub my neck, not these straps that are set far apart and in a perfect place.

I bought several Exped Lighting 60's for an upcoming week long backpacking trip. Recently I had the opportunity to test the Lightning 60 in mountainous terrain hauling 35 lbs or so. Compared to the lightning 45 which I normally use and love, I found the 60 to be slightly less comfortable (needed the 60 for a larger bear can).
