I was looking for a lightweight mid layer for cool/cold weather backpacking. This jacket is breathable and at only 6 ounces is very lightweight. Combined with a wool baselayer and a Pertex shield outer layer it should be able to keep me warm enough.
I ordered a Large based on the size chart, and although it is a bit snug, it is nice to not have excess fabric under a pack.

Awesome piece of kit. Great build quality. Breathes exceptionally well. Dries fast. Low bulk, packs down small and layers well. High warmth to weight ratio. I use this for downhill skiing. On your first lift ride of the day, you may find yourself a little cold, but once you start skiing, you will warm up and stay that way. A great product. It’s no wonder that Polartec describes its Alpha fabric as active insulation.
