serge88's Review of ALPS Mountaineering Tasmanian Copper/Rust
My rating is based on intended use which varies with each individual. I found the aluminum poles to be inadequate for 4 season use. Strong winds or heavy snow are going to wreak havoc with this tent. Also the quality of the cut leaves a lot to be desired . The fly does not create a nice tight canopy to protect the body in extreme situations . This is either due to poor manufacture quality control or poor design. It is adequate for most gentle climate 3 season use however so many individuals will be satisfied . If your equipment is intended for real wilderness travel ( Canadian arctic , Alaska etc. ) look elsewhere.
Pros:
good price , closeable windows , good vestibule coverage
Cons:
flimsy poles and shockcording, poor quality fly tautness,
Best Used for:
weekend warriors in areas with good cell phone coverage
Would Recommend:
No
