Most Helpful Positive Review Great tent, works in the snow
I bought this as a cheap and lightweight backpacking tent that could be used in the winter. It is excellent. Set up is quick, easy, and intuitive. I had no problem staying warm and dry in 10° weather sleeping on a snowfield. My dog and I had plenty of room, and 2 people would fit as long as they can organize equipment properly. I have not used it in a heavy wind (20+kts) or storm yet, but I have no doubt it will hold up. I highly recommend it as the best quality vs. utility in the 4-season market. Not a tent you'd take to the top of Everest, but definitely one I'd hike the Cascades in.

Great product for below freezing weather sadly only got to test in 25 degree weather so far, but way better then my 3 season tents. Roomy for one with some added features inside, wish they had a specific place for my light, but made due. Not as small as I'd hoped, but no using it for back packing like other set ups I have so it's good to go. Very good price from Campsaver, just wish they sold the footprint as well or that ALPS provided it, but for the price I can't really complain.

not quite there for 4 seasons or extereme conditions.

My rating is based on intended use which varies with each individual. I found the aluminum poles to be inadequate for 4 season use. Strong winds or heavy snow are going to wreak havoc with this tent. Also the quality of the cut leaves a lot to be desired . The fly does not create a nice tight canopy to protect the body in extreme situations . This is either due to poor manufacture quality control or poor design. It is adequate for most gentle climate 3 season use however so many individuals will be satisfied . If your equipment is intended for real wilderness travel ( Canadian arctic , Alaska etc. ) look elsewhere.

Cons:
  • flimsy poles and shockcording, poor quality fly tautness,

  • weekend warriors in areas with good cell phone coverage

Has been my main tent for years

I have used this tent for years when car camping.It is roomy, relatively easy to set up (not so much in wind) and solid. My friend who is over 6'6" bought one as well after he "tired mine out for size". We took his to Iceland, where it collapsed after enduring hours of 50+ mph wind and "horizontal" rain. I have used it in weather ranging from 90°F to below freezing, and with the proper pad and sleeping bag have never been cold. It has never leaked and condensation has not been a problem either. It could use some better quality guy ropes that do not stretch so much when wet, and the rainfly slaps a lot when windy, and is noisy.

  • Noisy in wind

It's a little heavy

Stayed one in it so far temps around 16 at night good tent.fairly easy to setup besides the poles that go through the vestibule on each side can be a pain.But once it's setup snug it down and enjoy.also I would recommend the footprint

Great tent!

I was looking for a 4 season that would keep the weather out,and me comfortable, without paying $1000. Well, I found it in this tent. I have used it a number of times hunting in the idaho mountains with no complaints! I'm used to packing 60 lbs. up the mountains so the weight that some people talk about isn't an issue for me. I would highly recommend it and definitely buy another when this one wears out! Campsaver definitely has the other guy's beat for pricing and shipping! They are my new go to camping supply store!
