Altra Arrows Lone Peak 3.0 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Had to go up a half size. Zero drop is the way to go. Keeps your Achilles and calf muscles stretched out and less pressure on your fore foot and metatarsal arch. Also the wide toe box allows your feet to do what's natural. I've always had trouble with sock seams rubbing blisters on my toes in other shoes--it's cause the toes are cramped in a more "traditional" shoe. The 3.0 has a slightly smaller toe box than the 2.5 and that's why I sized up. Great cushioning yet still provides plenty of stability. Grippy soles. I have double knee replacements and these shoes allow me to get back on the trail hiking and running!

These shoes (second pair) were taken right out of the box on the day of race and finished a 16 mile trail run. Most shoes have a narrow toe box but these allow my foot to expand but not feel to loose.

Altra has impressed me yet again with these shoes. They still fit true-to-foot-shape, and they have added some solid reinforcement along the seams in the form of a fabric overlay. These have held up to scree, talus, trail, off trail, and Leadville with no sign of stopping. The tread is gritty as normal, and the shoe may have gotten slightly softer... perhaps I was just used to my flattened 800+ mile LP2s (which were still going strong). Overall, another great release from Altra. I'm looking forward to many more mountains and races in these.

Love them! Better fitting than the 2.5 and more stable laterally. The sole seems to be gripper as well and the lugs more pronounced. Would highly recommend. Looking to get the 3.0 Mid Neoshells too!
