Altra Superior 2.0

by Erik A., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 8, 2016
Defiantly some pros and cons with this shoe. Used them once and ran 10 miles and unfortunately won't run in them again.

Start with pros:
-lightweight
-comfy toebox
-great price point

Cons and deal breaker:
-the minimalist feel allows you to "feel" all the terrain under your feet which equals pain after a few miles on rugged trails. This unfortunately really ruins the shoe for me. Because of this, I would not recommend this shoe. I know many people love this shoe and its predecessor, but I can't get on board if Im hurting after a short distance.

Great Trail Shoe

by Talan H., Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on June 28, 2016
I live in MT and have only ever hit trails in normal sneakers or in the fall hunting with boots on. I decided to start running trails to get into better shape and see some areas of the state I hadn't seen before. These shoes are lightweight, have great traction, and shed water pretty decently. The traction I get on some of the crazy steep up and downs we have here are a lifesaver. The stone guard also is quite nice and light. The ankle support is good for a low top shoe. I'm used to skate shoes so the zero drop was not anything new for me so I can't comment about that. Also having the built in Velcro for gaiters is a nice addition. Overall after a 12 mile and an 8 mile run through some crazy terrain and multiple water crossings I love these shoes.

Great shoes - a little small

by Evan W., Written on February 13, 2016
I love these shoes - this is my 3rd pair of Altras. They have great grip, and very comfortable. I've always wore size 9.5, but this pair seemed to feel a little small. Maybe it's because my old ones were so stretched out, but they are a little bit different. Love the wide toe box and zero drop as well... this is the way running is supposed to be!

Great shoe, but watch the sizing

by Braden T., Written on February 11, 2016
Luckily Camp Saver is excellent with returns because I had to send two pairs back before I finally got the right size. I wear a 9.5 for my daily street shoes (and a 10 in the Altra Instincts) but for whatever reason I had to get a 10.5 in these Superior 2.0s. But sizing aside, the shoe is perfect. Extremely comfortable and functional. Couldn't ask for more.

Light, breathable trail shoe.

by Andrew M., Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on February 8, 2016
Good shoe with lots of tread, very light and breathable which can be bad on muddy/wet trails. Did 16mi on the Bull Run trail with a lot of mud, noticed my socks got a little wet but I guess the little back flap works, I got much less mud on my legs then usual. Believe the reviews about needing to get a larger size, it is sized smaller then most. I did notice the reinforcement inside the shoe for the laces does add some thickness and could easily be a rub spot.

Sizing way off

Overall very great shoe. Had to upsize a whole size. Also a very shallow toe box that presses down on foot

The Altra Superior 2.0 is the most comfortable trail shoe I have worn. Just the right amount of cushion, supprt, and flexibility. Can't beat prices at campsaver. Service was fast.

A great alternative to traditional trail running shoes

by Cassidy C., from ID, United States Written on February 14, 2015
These Zero Drop shoes are great for off-road running. It took my legs 2-3 runs to get used to them (achilles and stabilizer muscle soreness), but the upside is immeasurable! These are My new favorite trail shoes.
