Light weight and comfortable trail shoes

by E, Written on May 5, 2014
I bought these shoes for trail running. Very comfortable. They're also comfortable when I'm running on the road, although I prefer my lighter road shoes. I'm still breaking mine in. Smooth running so far.

Love em!

by BNinja, Written on May 5, 2014
This is my first pair of zero drop shoes, I have put 15 miles on them and so far I am very pleased. I had been working towards a midfoot strike in traditional running shoes and these helped me fully make the transition.

I can't really speak to the durability yet but they are certainly comfortable and serve this flatlander quite well. I did order a full size larger based on reviews on other sites

Great versatile trail shoe

by Running Junkie, Written on May 5, 2014
I was looking for a zero-drop shoe and came across the Altra's. They're a step up in terms of protection from vibrams or NB minimus, but still give a natural foot strike.

The roomy toe box is an added plus, especially on trails when you can really feel your feet being able to get traction with the ground.

They run a little small, so order at least a half size up. I typically wear a 12, the 12.

Great trail runner but sized small

Very good grip, cushioning, and breathability. They do run a half size small though as my toes were cramped in the foot box at my normal size without socks.

these are great low profile shoes with a very airy mesh upper which lets a lot of dirt/debris to slip in. best for non dusty trails.

0 drop is nice

Great shoe for those who like 0-drop/minimalist type shoe. This is my second pair of Altras and I think they are improving as a new company. These are for trail running and not as much cushioning as the Instinct but more stable and closer to the ground.I have not decided yet wheather to cut off the rudder on the heel but it seems to do no harm, however I wonder about it's purpose. I took out the ro

Great Trail Shoe

I normally use the Instinct 1.5 as my road shoe. I recently purchased the Superior to try on the trails. First 17 mile trail run complete! Great shoe!

Excellent Outdoor Shoe

by Frickin' Tim, Written on December 12, 2013
Really good outdoor shoe. Quite good traction but not the best. Very light and flexible. Tons of room in the toe box. Got this pair and the Superior for my birthday - best present in recent memory.

Excellent toe box

by TNT, Written on December 12, 2013
The zero drop heel really helped me move from heel strike to a midfoot strike when running. Nice wide toe box allows your toes to wiggle. The uppers are durable and the whole shoe is very light weight. Traction in wet and muddy conditions is challenging, especially on steep descents. Laces are superb and don't loosen to much like I've experienced with other trail shoes. Can't wait for my next run
