Most Helpful Positive Review Warm and light
I've had this jacket less than a month, and still waiting to see the minimum temperatures that it's comfortable to wear. I've worn it in temps in the low 30s while out hiking. Plenty warm. Also wore it on a high 30s day with winds gusting around 40 mph and it proved to be a good barrier for the wind...

Most Helpful Negative Review Arcteryx is terrible
I bought this coat at a high price with high expectations. After one season it fell apart. Holes allowed so much down to escape that I looked like a baby penguin. I'm not a mountain climber, skier, hiker, etc. I'm the guy who wears this to work in a warm car and walks to a desk. Light adventure migh...

classic down jacket

by opp, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on November 23, 2020
Cerium is the classic down jacket.
It is lightweight, warm, stylish.
The jacket articulates well, maintaining full coverage even with arms extended above you.
Construction wise, the entire Cerium line up is quite fragile.
The Arato face fabric is a very light weight textile, but that light weight comes with a price.
Pros:
  • warm
  • stylish
  • Lightweigh
  • classic style
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Winter Travel

Wide range of use

by andy, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 29, 2020
Alpine, wilderness, hiking, leisure, this is a very versatile shoe, my wife also thinks it is beautiful, I like it very much.
And it's still waterproof. When I walk through the stream, it gives me enough confidence to protect my feet from getting wet.

Good Jacket but be advised on green color

by Nu Moon, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on February 21, 2020
The quality of this jacket is there and the fit is good. It is a nice mid weight that is my personal favorite since I believe in layering more than individual bulk layers. Be advised that the green fabric is quite see through and so you will see the feathers underneath which some will not like Im sure of it!

One of the best mid layer puffers I've used

by Samb, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on January 22, 2020
I love trying new gear, and I have many mid layer puffers. This just might be my favorite. Mountain Hardware's Ghost Whisperer is a very close second. The resilience, tech features, and trim profile of the Cerium LT has it edged out for me, if only barely.

I've owned a few of these. This iteration improves on its predecessors by introducing a zippered internal pocket which houses the stuff sack instead of having it in the front pocket (which occasionally was a minor annoyance for me, though not a big deal for most).

Bottom line: it's worth it. As a piece of technical gear, it's unmatched. I'm 5'10", 167lbs. and wear a small. For me, fit is slightly below belt line (where it should be, IMHO), and while slim, leaves the right amount of room to trap the air.
Pros:
  • Light weight, layers well, excellent warmth, nice tech features
Cons:
  • Price point is high - buy on sale
Best Used for:
  • Technical hiking, ice climbs, mountaineering, or impressing your friends with your impeccable good taste

a nice down

by charls, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on October 30, 2019
It weighs less than half a pound and is very warm to wear when climbing on ice, cross-country skiing or hiking. High toughness Arato 10 fabric and dynamic combination of high warmth retention can resist the cold in extremely cold guarantee period, ski transition period or short time at the top of the mountain. Light elastic cuffs do not grip the wrist. For cold climbing and field trip, Arato 10 fabric is waterproof and wear-resistant, and velvet and CoreSoft synthetic fabric are reliable for warmth preservation.

Better than advertised.

by Mark S., from CT, United States Written on December 2, 2018
I bought this hight end jacket as a layering piece for the Beta Jacket. I needed something that was an athletic, tailored fit to add warmth to the technical jacket without the bulk. This one delivered. Very well made, fits close to he body to preserve heat, and is almost unbelievably light for the level of performance. Worth the price.

Very light and fit to my body well.
So it is ideal for middle layer under the hard shell in the winter climbing.
It is also good looking.
