Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect and should have bought another one
This is my first Softshell jacket that I bought for my Ushuaia-Cartagena bicycle tour. I started in middle of March, its the end of summer and still very windy in the Patagonia region, especially Santa Cruz province, I have headwind everyday at 30-60 mi/hr, I only have a short sleeve merino underne...

Most Helpful Negative Review Nice, but...
Like all Arc'teryx gear, very nice but the fit was slightly off for me. The hoody was to tight across the chest and shoulders. Waist and arm length good.

Good arc'teryx

by Warm ice americano, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on May 6, 2020
My first arc'teryx is Gamma MX. It is useful for trekking. I love it. I am 180cm, 75kg. I usually wear Classic M size for Ralphlauren shirt. But Gamma mx was bought L size. I like it. I looking forward to wear it in this weekend.

Best when hiking

by hyuna, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on May 6, 2020
Many people recommended it and bought it.
They say it's the best when hiking.
I haven't worn it while hiking, I like the color,
and I believe in this brand.
I'm so excited.
It's so good to buy it on sale.

Best deals ever!

by BJF, from MD, United States Written on May 5, 2020
While searching for an Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hoody, I came across Campsaver and saw they had one at an unbelievable price. Thinking the price was a mistake I ignored and continued my search. A day or two later I came across Campsaver again, and figured what the heck and placed the order. I also called customer service that same day and inquired about my order still thinking because of the discount there is a problem. As friendly as can be they said they were shipping that day. My item arrived and couldn't be happier! I'm still amazed at what I saved. Just love this place. This will be my first go to place to look for a bargain.

Really functional jacket

by Wells, Verified Owner from Zhongzheng Dist, Taiwan Written on May 3, 2020
I like to wear this coat to go out in winter, because he is very breathable and durable. It will be worn when shopping or riding a motorcycle. You can directly ignore the light rain or light snow. If the rain is not heavy, it will not get wet to the inside if you keep raining.

Best All around Hoody in the Arc’teryx line

by FleetDaddy, from AR, United States Written on February 2, 2020
Fitted to my body shape as either a standalone or layer piece its my go to everyday. Qualifies as 10 month piece for me. I love the feel and I feel it’s the best hood in class. I’ve worn the other brands over and over but with Arc’teryx I’m here to stay.
Pros:
  • Fit sizing and color
Cons:
  • NONE

It Was Perfect

by JIN, from OR, United States Written on May 31, 2019
This is a go to for ski touring or warmer days at the resort and climbing. It also looks great around town. It works well with a light mid-layer and functions well itself as a mid-layer on variable days that turn cold. I love this coat, the fit is is a little snug for my liking. if your going out in the cold in this better have good base layering going on, it would be a great mid layer itself. It killed it in the wind and the rain for me. Very dry, and blocked out the wind great!

Gamma MX Hoody

by TFM, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on December 25, 2018
I bought this to have a warmer option for rainy weather. Kind of a "winter rain shell." Although not completely water resistant, it works great in snowy weather or during light (by east coast standards) rain. The cuffs of the sleeves are a pretty tight but aside from that, the jacket fits great. I would highly recommend this jacket.
Best Used for:
  • snowboarding, skiing, winter hiking

Good softshell

by G, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on December 16, 2018
Very warm and comfortable. One small flaw for me maybe the cuff size is not adjustable. I would recommend it to everyone. 3 star is just for the one I bought, because a small part of the front logo is unglued when I receive it.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
Cons:
  • cuff size is not adjustable
Best Used for:
  • all activities

Durable Softshell

by Scott, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on October 20, 2018
Has proven to be super durable for a softshell, I beat on this day in and day out for work in the winter as well as my backcountry adventures and neither the elements nor my washing machine has made a single scratch, ding or dent. The freedom of movement and breathability are outstanding and with the pockets open you can really vent excess heat to avoid removing the shell. I wash it weekly and after a full year it still beads rain like the day I got it. Great zipper, hood and weight! For me it was on the smaller size of the Arc trim fit, I wasn't able to layer under this one in my normal size Medium. It does fit well so I can't justify removing a fitment star but felt it was worth mentioning. If you can try one on it is probably a good idea before purchasing. Another A+ piece from Arc!!
Pros:
  • Durable, Stretch, DWR A+
Cons:
  • Cut short in the front
Best Used for:
  • all around

Fantastic all around jacket

by opp, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on January 18, 2018
Gamma MX Hoody is an excellent variable condition jacket for just about any activity.
The jacket features a micro fleece lining.
This lining is very thin, making is more ideal for high output activities and in warmer temperatures.
The exterior soft shell material is wind and water resistant, and it is very durable.
I have used this jacket for hiking, mountaineering, ski touring, alpine climbing, early season rock climbing, and much more in the way of outdoor activities and it has performed well in all of them.
Fantastic all around jacket
