Exceptional Featherweight Insulator!
This is my first piece of Arc'teryx gear, and I'm extremely pleased with it. Perfect detailing, a very trim, almost-tailored fit, great hood design, and it's amazingly warm & comfy for the weight (my XL weighs under 11 oz). I'm a lanky 6' 5", 220 lbs, and the XL fits me perfectly. I've got room underneath for a midweight layer, but it's streamlined enough to fit under a hardshell. I love the extra long sleeves and drop hem in the back.
It is warmer & less breathable than the Atom LT, but that's a plus if you're using it as I am - primarily as an outer layer in cold, windy conditions while hik...

Arc'terx Nuclei Hoody is a nice synthetic insulation layer
The Nuclei Hoody is a nice addition to one's outdoors kit. It's warmth-to-weight ratio, packability, and included compression bag make it fantastic. I also like the fit as usual for Arc'teryx and overall am very happy with it. However, due to its lack of breathability, this is a jacket that I would only wear during colder temps for the most part. It's not as flexible and breathable as its sibling, the Atom LT. I actually give that jacket the edge due to its composite or hybrid design not to mention its superior hood adjustment/design. Anyway, I ordered a medium and am 5'11", 175lbs, have a 16"x34" shirt size, 42R for jacket size, and a 34" waist. Want to stay warm during winter especially during more stationary periods like during the evening at camp, then get a Nuclei Hoody :o)

Warmth without the Weight
This jacket is sensational for cool, cold and light rain. I have the Heron color and the style and feel of the jacket are great aesthetics.
In the alpine areas I've worn a Rab Meco baselayer underneath in 15-40F and felt cosy without overheating. Light rain beads off in a reassuring way. Unlike my Atom SV, the Nuclei fits neatly under either of my Super Pluma or Shift hardshells, and it would fit
