Cameron's Review of Arc'teryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's
I purchased this jacket as well as a Northface, and an Outdoors Research. I also checked the prices on Millet, Patagonia and Marmot. The quality of the product is similar to its competitors but it is much more expensive. I already own a BETA SV jacket, the reason I was looking at the Sidewinder is due to the cut. Arcteryx does not properly size their layers. I am a large, with the base and two layers, the jacket I currently own becomes a sausage raper. The Sidewinder has a more generous cut allowing for layering. However, it is overpriced for its quality, after all it is a Gortex shell. I have been buying Arcteryx for years and I have seen other brands catch up, but Arcteryx has produced no price worthy improvements to justify its premium. I will be returning the jacket.
Pros:
Good fit for layering.
Cons:
Price
Best Used for:
Winter layering
