Reviews & Ratings for Atlas 12 Series Snowshoes

Great shoe - With pack for a multi-overnighter, am nearly 300lbs on the hoof. provides plenty of flotation in the soft stuff, strong traction and stability in the crusty and icy stuff. The heel lifts are a nice bonus for the longer ascents. A great, durable shoe for all your needs!

Got these at a great price over the holidays, but undecided on how much I really like them. The biggest issue are the bindings, they seem to have the twist and push the tails out instead of staying in line. Also the heel strap is short, I wear a size 10.5 and it is just barely long enough for my boots, not a problem for me but if my feet were any bigger or maybe if I had a different pair of boots it would be.

The binding snugged up with no effort at all. Snowshoes were very light in weight. How they perform in deep snow is unknown due to we had only 10 inches of snow this year.

I've used these on some Colorado 14ers and been very happy with them. The integrated heel-lift helps on very steep terrain, and the suspension system handles awkward angles very well. The crampons bite hard in snow and ice. These shoes are a little heavier than some competitors, but I think the increased durability is worth it. Being in the backcountry with a broken snowshoe isn't an experience I

These snowshoes with their bright metallic green paint job really get noticed. Super easy to put on and take off, much easier than my wifes older 10 series Electras. Great overall snowshoe. Only grip I've seen so far, if the black paint at the toe end of the shoes scratches off very easily, though this is a very minor complaint. Build quality and performance are first rate.

As a first time snowshoer I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am with the Atlas series 12 30 snowshoes. I have used them three times in a wide of variety of conditions and have found them for the most part no better and more dangerous than just using snowboots or hiking boots. Their flotation is horrible. They sink up to 1 foot or more in fresh snow. Their overall design is terrible. On
