I have used Backpacker Pantry meals for years. While they are bit more expensive and have a BIT more cook time than Mountain House, they tend to be more filling, and more product per bag. I have found them to be very tasty, easy to make, (just add boiling water, seal, wait the alloted time, and eat), The shelf life is pretty good, and the flavor of the product is VERY good.

This one tasted very good. It even had chunks of dehydrated pineapple. As a dish this rivaled anything you could buy in the frozen food isle and I'd even go so far to say that the consistency was better than that because it was dehydrated and not frozen. The rice and vegetables were good as well.

The Backpacker's "Hawaiian Chicken" is a VERY tasty dinner. I didn't think a dehydrated backpacking meal could possibly taste this good… but wow, this meal was amazing. The pineapple tasted great and the chucks of chicken were tender and moist. The mix of spices and sauce was perfect, I LOVED THIS MEAL… no complaints.
NOTE: You might want to get a long handled spoon for these type of meals
