Good but not great

by KarlosJ83, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2011
Freeze dried, but not just add water and rehydrate. Taste is good after a long day on the trail.
Most Helpful Negative Review Definitely not for backpacking. Don't waste your time.
This side dish/dessert requires multiple pots, ridiculous prep times (compared to other freeze dried backpacking meals), tedious steps like mixing and laying ingredients, and after all is said and done, it doesn't even taste good. The apples burned before the cobbler cooked. I even cooked this in a stove that has great low/heat simmer control. It's obvious that this was designed by people who don't backpack. Stick to Mountain House.

perfect treat for outdoor adventuring

by melissa, from ID, United States Written on December 23, 2019
Throw this in your winter pack with a small stove to boil water and you'll feel spoiled on your winter adventures. Of course can be delicious in all seasons! I have a little pack with my stove, hot cocoa, and cobbler and it makes taking the kids on outings WAY more enjoyable. I get them to go further and longer with cobbler as their incentive.

Not thrilled

by Cyndy Lou, Written on September 10, 2011
Would not have purchased had I known that it required more cookware then a JetBoil. I contacted Campsaver.come to add that in the description of the item.
Perhaps the item will be good when we are camping with our cookstove, pans, etc and not hiking in or kayaking in with limited resources.
