Good if you like fish

by Tyler, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2013
This was really good if you like fish. I would add a little salt but otherwise it is excellent. The pesto adds a lot and the salmon is better than it should be.

Pretty good, not too salty. Fairly large serving.

by Dean, from CA, United States Written on October 7, 2014
Not too fishy, but I like fish especially salmon. Texture was good, flavor was good and I appreciate the low salt. Of the half-dozen different freeze dried dinner meals I've tried so far this is one of my fav's.

Better than expected

by ky, Written on September 10, 2013
It was better than I expected it to be. It was a little bland, but I expected it to be worse because generally I hate backpacking food. It was really easy to make, and I'm all about the ease of preparation.

Just Ok. not bad though

by KarlosJ83, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2013
It tasted fine and I'd eat it on a trip. But, it would not be my first choice. If you love salmon, you'd probably like it more.

Good, but not my favorite

by Backcountry ent, Written on September 10, 2013
Great for packing on a hike, camping, in the backcountry. This dish lacked much flavor. My first thought was 'I'm attracting bears every moment and this dish wouldn't be my first choice over others". I was pleased to see real Salmon! Overall an average dish.

Not too shabby

by Backpacker D, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2013
The fish fillet comes in an included separate packet that you add to the pasta. Though the fish tastes great (much like a smoked kipper snack), the pasta lacks a solid flavor. If you're doing any fishing on your backpacking trip, you might be able to add more fish to the meal to give it that extra umph.

Boring Fish

by Adrenaline Junk, Written on September 10, 2013
Kind of a boring flavor. I really wasn't very impressed. It would be good to fill up on, but if you're looking for something that tastes good as well, I would buy another type. Super easy to cook though!

Good not great sums up this entree'. The fish itself is very flavorful, but the pasta itself lacks taste.

Perfect low sodium fare

by backpacker bob, Written on September 10, 2011
So many freeze dried foods are loaded with salt. This entree has but 55 mg of sodium in a portion. [...] (I have serious sodium issues) [...] a second entree with low sodium, the chicken alfredo offering. Both were delicious. [...]
