This meal is really delicious, plus there’s 2 packets of peanut butter and a small pack of peanuts inside (for the meal, obviously). But if you just add one packet of PB, the meal is a little spicier and you have a little packet for lunch or mixing into some oatmeal or something!
One time I made this meal in pretty cold temperatures at elevation and it did not hydrate and remained pretty soupy, but this second time around it worked really well and was delicious!

Haven't eaten it yet but by the weight of the package, I'd say there's wet peanut sauce in there or something. I've never had a freeze dried meal weigh this much. Wow. I always enjoy the taste but you need to read the fine print on Backpacker's Pantry; a lot of times there are prep instructions beyond dumping in hot water. Some BP meals require kitchen equipment you may find you don't have in the backcountry. I'll be checking the weights now too. Yikes.

I don't believe that Backpacker's Pantry makes a sub-par product, and the Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce is no exception. I have made the switch from the "other" guys and will never go back to them.
The only issue I have is that you have to be careful how spicy you eat when you're in the backcountry as "facilities" can be somewhat hard to come by, but all in all a great meal

The Backpacker's Pantry Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce is a yummy little dinner! When prepared it may not look all that amazing, maybe even weird, but it tases GREAT! The taste is amazing and it is sort of spicy, but really not too spicy. If you like spicy Thai food but you can't do that extremely spicy stuff (Thai food is some of the hottest on the planet!), this meal is for you! I really enjoyed th
