Big wall climbing is absolutely brutal for your typical ropes. Ascending, lower-outs, pendulums, rappels, and aid climbing; it's all necessary, and it's rough. That's why I switched to the Beal Booster 9.7 Dry. I just got back from the RNWF of Half Dome, and it still looks brand new! I would recommend this rope to anyone who needs a rope that can take a beating. It has a soft feel and an even softer catch.
Are you toproping every day? Get the Booster.
New to climbing and not sure if you trust the thin 9 mm ropes with your life yet? Get the booster.
Want to get a new rope for multipitch trad (or sport)? get the Booster.
Looking for a new big wall rope? get the Booster.
I literally can't recommend it enough.
Pros:
soft and stretchy
Incredibly durable.
Cons:
I wouldn't bring it Alpine Climbing.
Best Used for:
toprope
big wall
multipitch
Would recommend: Yes
